Course overview

This course will help teachers to develop a coaching mindset crucial for effective AI fluency in education. It emphasizes a mindset shift from technical tool use to enhancing creativity and curiosity through powerful questioning techniques. 

Participants will cultivate reflective, resourceful coaching skills that enable them to guide students and colleagues in integrating AI thoughtfully and responsibly. 

The course fosters emotional intelligence, open inquiry, and innovation in teaching practices, positioning AI as an enhancer of human creativity and problem-solving.

This course is suitable for:

• Teachers from all educational levels

• School staff and education professionals

• Teachers interested in innovative, reflective, and student-centred approaches

No advanced technical knowledge of AI is required. The course focuses on mindset, reflection, and pedagogical practice, rather than programming or complex technical skills.

Day 2 – Developing the coaching mindset

• Exploring the mindset shift: From fear and control to curiosity and collaboration

• Emotional intelligence and active listening in coaching conversations

• Exercises in self-reflection: Identifying personal biases about AI

Day 3 – Asking the right questions

• The art of powerful questioning: Techniques and examples

• Designing questions that foster creativity and ethical thinking about AI

• Practicing questioning skills in simulated coaching scenarios

Day 4 – Enhancing creativity with AI (LEGO® SERIOUS PLAY® Workshop)

• How AI can stimulate creative processes in teaching and learning

• Coaching strategies to inspire innovative use of AI in the classroom

• Mentoring peers and students in AI adoption: Mindset and communication tips

Day 5 – Applying coaching skills for AI fluency

• Overcoming resistance and fostering a growth mindset towards AI integration

• Group work: Co-creating AI-enhanced lesson ideas using coaching frameworks

• Reflections, and action planning for ongoing development
